FITNESS COACHING

WHAT IS A FITNESS COACH?

A fitness coach is a trained professional in the fitness industry who can create a trusting and authentic environment that promotes relationships with their clients to encourage, motivate, and challenge their body, mind, and soul. For a coach, the goal is all around healthy and whole transformation. Through exercise programs, workout routines, nutritional guidance, and emotional support, a fitness coach walks step by step with their client to ensure balance and wellness.

A WELLNESS COACH:

  • Creates connection and camaraderie

  • Gives grace

  • Keeps things authentic

  • Listens intently

  • Asks the tough questions

  • Guides instead of directs

  • Sets the pace

  • Creates accountability

WHAT DO THE EXPERTS SAY ABOUT FITNESS COACHING DURING AND AFTER PREGNANCY?

ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) Study Review included this statement in their publication: Physical Activity and Exercise During Pregnancy and the Postpartum Period, December 2015

"Physical activity in pregnancy has minimal risks and has been shown to benefit most women, although some modification to exercise routines may be necessary because of normal anatomic and physiologic changes and fetal requirements. Women with uncomplicated pregnancies should be encouraged to engage in aerobic and strength-conditioning exercises before, during, and after pregnancy."

YOUR INVESTMENT

The investment for my prenatal and/ or postpartum fitness coaching is $65 for an hour one-on-one session. Sessions can be scheduled in advance or per session. Whether you are months along in your pregnancy or you are in the postpartum journey, please make sure to get a release for from your physician or attending care professional before starting any exercise regiment.

What is included?

1. ONE-ON-ONE

Sessions can be scheduled in the privacy of your own home or in my own home gym. I prefer sessions be one-on-one so that we can get to know each other well and begin a trusting relationship.

2. INITIAL ASSESSMENT

Before we dive into moving your body and talking about your overall wellness, we will assess where you are and what you have done in the past for fitness, food, stress coping, etc. Being informed of how your body moves today will help me understand which aspects of the body needs readjustment and alignment.

3. MOVEMENT

Frequency, intensity, type and time of each session will change throughout our sessions together. We will begin with creating a solid cardiovascular and musculoskeletal foundation to ensure client (and baby) are ready for an increased amount of stress on the body.

4. NUTRITIONAL GUIDANCE

Nutrition is an important portion of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, especially during your childbearing year. You will be given helpful recommendations for ways to have a healthy pregnancy and postpartum recovery with food as the body's true medicine.*

5. CHRIST-CENTERED TRUTH

I believe that health starts from the inside out. What we put into our bodies (thoughts, values, beliefs) dictate how our body reacts and grows. With Christ-centered truth and guidance whole health and wellness can be attained and maintained.

6.  HELPFUL RESOURCES

As a coach and wellness advocate, I believe that it for our benefit to use the professionals in our community who are skilled and knowledgable in their trade to help us further, if we are at a plateau. I have a great list of resources I will share with you as my client.
